Great question! For candidates with great performance, they would even offer you part-time / extension offers upon the end of your original internship. If you are a year 3 student, they may offer you a placement first or an internship during your year 4's sem breaks first. I guess it's hard for them to officially give you a return offer 18 months ahead.
