i received an offer from a firm but im still waiting for a response from this other place i really want to get in. how should i tell the hr/ should i tell them about the competing offer to pressure them to review me quicker?

I think one thing you can do is to ask the HR for a rough timeline for interview/offer so you can get back to the other firm with a bit more clarity. Maybe also stress that you really prefer this firm and would love a chance to interview soon! But I guess don't tell the HR to grant any special favour🧐
