Hi Bill, great question. I personally seldom hear from similar situations happened. But to be honest I would say salary is something that is a hard fact which you will ultimately share with your potential employer anyways. I understand that it may be kinda strange but they may try to see if you are asking for a price within their offer range. If not, they may need to stop the conversation to save time. 

But did they ask for your desired salary before? Just curious 🧐
